The Youth Volunteer Program (YVP) engages youth between the ages of 11–18 to donate volunteer hours to serve for not-for-profit organizations in many practical and useful ways. This program builds active and responsible citizenship and many of the young people contribute hundreds of hours in a year to assist these not-for-profit groups around the city. Youth work for minimum of 10 hours over the course of the summer under the supervision of team leaders.

The Program runs during the summer from the beginning of July until the end of the third week in August. YVP is also involved in a number of year-round activities on weekends and during school breaks.

Why Join?

The Good Food Box is a project that exists in conjunction with the Children’s Hunger and Education Program. It is an alternative community-based food distribution system that provides a variety of quality food at an affordable price for families and individuals. We will be helping to clean and sanitize the returnable plastic containers that the food comes in as well as packing the boxes with food in an assembly line fashion.

Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre

The Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre’s goal is to make sure all people in our community have access to safe, affordable, and nutritious food. We will be helping sort food to put into hampers or into the store for sale.
